Internet penetration level in Armenian schools to reach 98% by the end of the year

Yerevan/Mediamax/. The goal of the “Class on Wheels” initiative of “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational complex is to propagandize media education in Armenia’s regions.

Director of the educational complex, Ashot Bleyan, said this noting that they are going to pass their experience in this sphere within the framework of “Notebook- to be my friend” program, Mediamax reports.

According to him, the involvement of teachers and pupils from marzes into this program will help enrich the content of the media-education and establish new ties for educational exchange.

Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said that through this program the educational complex spreads a “new revolutionary idea.”

“The priority direction in increasing the level of education is the introduction of IT in schools. If in 2009, 36 pupils used one computer, today already 22 pupils are using it. The index has improved. We should bring the 65% level of internet penetration in schools up to 98% by the end of the year” the minister stated.

The “Class on Wheels” project will be implemented by the following route: Yerevan-Yeghegnadzor-Goris-Stepanakert-Askeran-Amaras-Gandzasar-Tatev-Noravank.
