“VivaCell-MTS” and “Synopsys Armenia” to hold a macro-electronics competition

Yerevan/Mediamax. “VivaCell-MTS” General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Chief Executive Officer of “Synopsys Armenia” Rich Goldman announced today realization of an annual macro-electronics competition in Armenia.

Mediamax reports that the first analogous competition in Armenia was held last year with participation of students from 5 countries. Rich Goldman noted that this year they plan to double the number of participant countries, adding that students from India, Jordan, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and the USA have expressed wish to participate in the contest.

“Education predetermines the future of the country. One should stimulate competition among students of IT sphere, since this is an important condition for creative work”, Ralph Yirikian stated.

The competition will be held in fall, 2011. The winner of the competition will receive a notebook, the second winner – 300 thousand AMD, and the third one – 150 thousand AMD. Students of high schools under higher educational institutions, as well as specialists of companies, working in the sphere of microelectronics, can participate in the competition. The age of the participants should be under 30.
