Yerevan/Mediamax/. Presentation of the first online hotel booking system in Armenia – Armhotels.am took place in Yerevan today with participation of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian.
Mediamax reports that the Director of “RUMEA” Company, which is the author of the project, Ruben Grigoryan stated that with the help of the system one can book and pay for hotel rooms in 73 hotels in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, at that the number of the hotels is constantly replenished.
The hotel rooms can be paid for holders of both ArCa cards and all internationally recognized payment systems. Holders of ArCa cards can pay for their stay at the hotel via the online processing of the Armenian system and the holders of other cards – via the processing system of Moneybookers. Armhotels.am has a safety certificate, issued by VeriSign Corporation.
“By integrating with a number of largest world booking systems, such as Amadeus, Galileo, HRS, Expedia, GTA, Hotels.com and Traviko, we are creating wide growth prospects for organizations, which will cooperate with Armhotels.am system”, Ruben Grigoryan stated.
He noted that soon, besides reservation of hotel rooms, Armhotels.am system will offer booking services for cottages, short-term rent of apartments, museum tickets, restaurant tables, one-day trips and car rent.
The idea of Armhotels.am was presented to consideration of the crisis prevention operative staff under the Armenian government in September, 2009. The government provided the authors of the project with a state guarantee to receive a credit, due to which the developers received the necessary funding.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian tested the system, noting that due to it, Armenia will become “closer and more reliable” for potential tourists.
