“VivaCell-MTS” allocated frequencies for 4G network launch

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Public Services Regulatory Committee (PSRC) of Armenia met today the application of “VivaCell-MTS” on allocation of radiofrequencies for launching fourth generation (4G) network on the basis of LTE (Long-Term Evolution) technology.

“VivaCell-MTS” General Manager Ralph Yirikian stated that “it is a very important day for the company today”.

““VivaCell-MTS” will be the leader in the sphere of building fourth generation network. Soon we will put the network into operation: the company has been working over building of the network for a long time, and we only needed to gain permission to use the frequencies”, Ralph Yirikian stated.

According to him, the company will start provision of 4G network services in Yerevan and then will move it to the regions depending on the level of population density. Ralph Yirikian noted that 4G network will be developing jointly with services of third generation network (3G).

General Manager informed that today 3G network is available in over 650 settlements in Armenia.

“Very soon internet in Armenia will be completely different. After 4G network launch we will be able to increase the speed capacities of the network dozens of times”, Ralph Yirikian stated.
