“ArmenTel” and FiberNet occupy dominating positions in the market of international IP traffic

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Public Services Regulatory Committee /PSRC/ of Armenia declared “ArmenTel” (Beeline brand) and FiberNet companies to be occupying a leading position in the market of international IP traffic services today.

Mediamax reports that the Head of Telecommunication Department of PSRC Gevorg Gevorgyan stated at the session of the Committee that “ArmenTel” and FiberNet occupy respectively 57 and 43 percents of the market.

Gevorg Gevorgyan stated that the given decision will create a legal basis for regulating tariffs of the dominating companies in the market of international IP traffic services, as well as approving rules, guaranteeing competition in the given sphere.

Head of Legal Service of “ArmenTel” Company David Sandukhchyan found it difficult to answer whether the company will dispute the given decision of PSRC.
