Yerevan /Mediamax/. Computer literacy to be included the compulsory educational programs of Armenian schools.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Armenian government, this issue was discussed on July 29 at the session of the Information Technology Development Support Council, presided by the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsian.
The Prime Minister charged the Minister of Science and Education with elaborating the procedure to implement compulsory computer courses at schools and being consistent as to the issue of the corresponding certification of school-leavers.
At the session of the Council they also discussed the issue of facilitating the process of founding new IT companies, as well as the package of proposals on reforming the customs legislation and administration, around which the Union of IT Enterprises of Armenia carries out negotiations with the State Revenues Committee. Tigran Sargsian suggested setting up a workgroup to stir up those discussions.
