July 15 is the deadline for submitting applications for education abroad funded by “Luys”

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian presented in Yerevan today the Director of “Luys” Foundation’s educational program Jacqueline Karaaslanyan.

Mediamax reports that the Prime Minister noted that Jacqueline Karaaslanyan, who has occupied the position as a result of an open competition, has elaborated a concept for realizing the educational activity of “Lyus” philanthropic foundation.

The budget of the educational program of the foundation for 2009 makes 400mln AMD, which may be used to pay for education of 10-15 Armenian citizens in best higher educational institutions in the world.

An Educational Council of “Luys” Foundation has been formed, which includes Armenian Prime Minister, Deputy Head of the President’s Administration Vigen Sargsian, MP from oppositional “Heritage” faction Anahit Bakhshyan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Vache Gabrielyan and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “Ayb” Educational Fund, father Mesrop Aramyan. The Prime Minister recalled that “Luys” Foundation functions under the patronage of the Armenian President Serzh Sargsian.

Tigran Sargsian stated that in the nearest future the personnel of the educational program of the fund will be enrolled and will operatively respond to all applications and suggestions.

Jacqueline Karaaslanyan stated that the list of higher educational institutions abroad, the students of which may hope to receive financial support from “Luys” Foundation, is presented at www.luys.am website. The deadline for submitting applications for funding this year is July 15.
