Yerevan /Mediamax/. General Director of “ArmenTel” (Beeline brand) Neicho Velichkov stated today that Orange will become a “serious competitor” for Armenian mobile connection operators.
Mediamax reports that Neicho Velichkov said today that “ArmenTel” is getting ready for the entry of the third operator to the market both concerning marketing policy and from the technical point of view. At that he stated that “ArmenTel” is not afraid of competition and will do everything to preserve confidence of its subscribers and attract new customers.
Answering the question of Mediamax on possible implementation of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service in Armenia, Neicho Velichkov stated that “the given service is expedient given 110-130 percent of mobile connection penetration”.
“However, in Armenia there is no such level of penetration and implementation of MNP will be considered a “green light” for one of the players”, “ArmenTel” Head stated.
Neicho Velichkov also noted the necessity of preparing the corresponding legislative base and technical reequipment for implementing MNP, which, according to him, will take 2-4 years. At that “ArmenTel” Head stressed that he possesses experience of working in conditions of MNP.
