VimpelCom Group’s future plans in Armenia are discussed

Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today the VimpelCom Group delegation headed by CEO Jean-Yves Charlier.

The Prime Minister attached importance to continuous advance of information and telecommunication sector in Armenia and noted that the government is preparing a new package for further development of the sphere.

Karen Karapetyan stressed that the government is ready to discuss with VimpelCom various initiatives and offers aimed at expansion of the company’s plans in Armenia.

Jean-Yves Charlier observed that the company he runs has a long-term vision for its activity in Armenia and is preparing large-scale investment projects. According to him, they will be aimed at improvement of fixed and mobile connection services and modernization of infrastructures.

The Prime Minister welcomed the initiative and urged VimpelCom to present suggestions for development of the sphere and expectations from the government to the Armenian Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies.
